2. WHY 10% OF VITAMIN C?
This is a daily use treatment, a lifestyle serum if you will. 10% has been shown to be an effective and safe amount for daily use. A higher percentage does not equal better or faster results. It is actually possible to have a higher chance of sensitivity when using higher %'s. Even if the % is higher it does not mean that the ingredient is acting on the skin in a stronger manner. I would value stability over higher % for better results and less chance of degradation/irritation. The stability of Vitamin C within a formula is much more important than the percentage.
3. SHOULD THIS BE USED FOR SPOT TREAT OR ALL OVER APPLICATION?
Results are better if applied all over - our formula only targets excess melanin.

Loved it for years until I got a major allergic reaction
This used to be my hands-down absolute favorite serum for its beautiful, luxurious texture and moisturizing effect. I've tried dozens of other serums and found only this one could make my skin feel so well-nourished that sometimes I've forgotten to put on moisturizer afterwards. I've bought and used many bottles of this over several years. During these years, I dealt with intermittent redness, peeling, flaking, scaly, dry, itchy, leathery, and sore skin on my face, eyelids, eyebrows, jawline, neck, and ears. Before this problem, my skin had always been blemish-free, clear, smooth and never sensitive to anything. So, I thought the problem was caused by something else, including perimenopause, because from the beginning this serum didn't cause any allergic reaction and even the severity of the problems would come and go despite using this serum everyday. Unhappy with my skin problems, I recently decided to stop using this, and use only a hydrating toner and plain moisturizer. The redness, discomfort, and ugly skin problems started going away! After a few weeks of clear skin, I tried this serum once again (on face, not eyes) - and within hours, I got puffy red eyes, red patches around my mouth, and other parts of face. I stopped using it and my good skin came back. I was so bummed about this because I LOVED this serum which seemed perfect from the beginning. Because of this love, I tried it again 2 more times (each time several weeks apart) - and I got the same allergic reaction. I'm so sad, it was the most lovely serum ever. Did they change the formulation? Or did I just become sensitive to its ingredients? I have 2 barely used, practically new bottles bought this year ... does anyone want to have mine?

Good product bad packaging
I am testing out this product again and will see how it fades dark spots. Tried it before and it has a nice texture, is gentle if you want a vitamin c product. I like that it says the vit c does not degrade. My complaint of this product is the packaging. I wish they would change it. When it gets low enough you can not pump it from the dispenser anymore and have to get it out by opening the product. You can get it out but it is messy, annoying, and not sure what happens when the product office is exposed to air regularly like that.

Actual Heaven for Dark Spots
I used to be an avid user of Rodan and Fields brightening serum for dark spots and they took it off the market years ago. Since then, I’ve been on the hunt for a product that actually works. I have been using the product daily (sometimes twice a day) for 3 weeks and my dark spots are nearly gone. The smaller spots have cleared up completely while the larger spots have reduced probably by about 60%. I was literally shocked when I compared the photos I took. The product also feels great on my skin and doesn’t cause any dryness or oil.

Severe Allergic Reaction
I received a sample of this product with an order and decided to try it. I had the exact same severe allergic reaction like many other users. My skin was extremely red, flakey and tight. Eyes were extremely swollen. I've never had any kind of reaction like this to a skin product, and have used multiple brands of Vitamin C and many various serums. It's an absolute must to do a spot test.

Allergic reaction around eyes
I thought I was seeing things until I read other reviews but this left scaly skin along one brow bone and broke blood vessels along the other. Very odd. Also, this product smells putrid.

SEVERE ALLERGIC REACTION
DO NOT BUY! SEVERE ALLERGIC REACTION after using one time! I woke up and my eyes are almost swollen shut, hives on my face and neck, and little white heads all over my face. I do not have sensitive skin typically - buyer beware!! Throwing away all of the products from this line!

Allergic reaction
I have loved all of my Biossance products and I alternate the serums so I did not realize this was what causing my recent allergic reactions. I quit all of the products a couple of months ago since I developed hives and redness around eyes, nose and mouth. I was put on high dose antihistamine and they got better so I just used this serum two nights ago and woke up with same sever allergies that causes me to end up in the ER one day to be treated for the swelling. Even on the antihistamine, it didn’t prevent this recent reaction I am still trying to recover from. At least I now know what is causing my severe allergies. Please patch test before using! This is a serious allergic reaction and seems to be pretty common from what I have read on here. I cannot recommend this product but I love the others and hope I can still use them someday.

Holy grail product
I’ve been using this for about 3 years now and it’s probably my favorite product in my routine. It’s so lightweight and feels like nothing on your skin but the results are amazing. My skin always feels so smooth and any scars or redness I get from occasional acne seems to heal and fade fast when using this. As an acne prone girlie it doesn’t break me out either which is key!

Allergic reaction
I used this for a couple weeks without any issues, then I had an allergic reaction. I tried it once more and the reaction was even worse. Swollen eyes, red, dry/peeling and itchy face. It took 3 days for the allergic reaction to fade. What a waste of a whole bottle.

Effective, worth it!
This dark spot serum has an effective percentage of vitamin C since I am already noticing, after just a few weeks, that my skin is lightening or brightening. At this point, I think I should just regularly use it on the dark spots rather than my entire face. I use multiple Biossance products and I regularly get compliments on my skin, even though I am (proudly) 69. I highly recommend this product in particular. It is doing what the literature said it would do.
