What is Squalane?

Our sugarcane-derived squalane is the weightless hydrator at the heart of every Biossance product. Squalane was historically derived from the livers of sharks, but ours is created through sugarcane fermentation, helping to save millions of sharks each year.

YOUR HYDRATION TIMELINE

Our body produces less squalene* as we get older. Your body produces it's own squalene which can also be found and harvested in shark livers. We have created our own sugar-cane derived version of suqalene, referred to as squalane to protect sharks and our oceans.
