1. HOW DOES THE AMINO ACID COMPLEX REMOVE MAKEUP?
We use a specific lipo-amino acid that breaks down and dissolves makeup and impurities so they can then be rinsed away.
2. SHOULD I USE THIS ON WET OR DRY SKIN?
Apply to wet skin to lather the cleanser’s gel texture into a satisfying foam.
3. DOES IT HAVE A SCENT?
Yes. Amino Aloe Gentle Cleanser’s cleansing ingredients do have a natural, refreshing herbal scent. It’s important to note that this scent belongs to the ingredients themselves and is not an added fragrance.
4. IS THE PACKAGING RECYCLABLE?
The bottle contains PCR and is recyclable. Simply discard the pump, then rinse the bottle, remove the label, and recycle in the appropriate bin.
How To Use: Apply 1-2 pumps onto hands and work into a lather. Massage it onto damp face for at least 30 seconds, then rinse clean.
When To Use: Day and night.
Layering Tip: Start with your Amino Aloe Gentle Cleanser, next apply treatments (eye cream and serum), and finally your moisturizer. For daytime, SPF should be your final step!

Wanted to love it :(
I was excited to use this cleanser as I have other biossance products. I finally got through my last old cleanser and tried this one. After a few uses, I broke out in what looked like rashes. They were small, itchy, red, and inflamed all over my cheeks, jaw, and upper neck (everywhere the cleanser would touch). I thought I was just getting a heat rash, but even with cold water and using this, my face had an allergic reaction to it.

Pleasantly surprised
I never would have chosen this as my purchase with being brand new and seeing so many serums and moisturizers. Let’s be real. Buying cleanser is boring. For the longest time, I didn’t put much thought or effort into what I wash my face with as long as it’s advertised as ok for rosacea and sensitivity. I ended up buying the full size bottle when I was sent a tiny sample and saw how powerful it is. My face is always red and I’m prone to getting rashes and breakouts around my nose. You can wet your hands and put two pumps onto them, lather and rub it all over your face, neck and chest. It has an immediate cooling sensation and I can visibly stand in front of my bathroom mirror and watch the color of my face change in the two minutes I leave this on. It goes from irritated red to a lighter pink and I can see between where my face gets covered in red blotches. It’s hard to explain in words. I’m really happy with the level of change I can see. I haven’t been able to separate in my vision what is a red patch or broken blood vessel’s. This takes the red waaaaaay down where I can see the difference between both. There’s no cure for broken blood vessels minus having your face zapped by a dermatologist with a laser but this cleanser helps the rest. I apologize for being so long winded. This and the marine algae eye cream are my top two favorites so far. The eye cream doesn’t burn your eyes even if you get some in it. These are phenomenal products and both last a long time. That justifies the price for me.

Still looking for a good cleanser
I've used this product for over 6 months. While it doesn't irritate my skin, it certainly doesn't remove makeup. When I say makeup, I'm talking the bare minimum that I use maybe once/twice a week - a bit of eyebrow powder, a few dots of concealer and MAC blush. I spend about 2 minutes with this product every evening - cleansing and rinsing. It's disappointing when I see makeup on my towel after using this product. I can't imagine anyone trying to remove a full foundation with it!

Favorite Cleanser
I love how gentle this cleanser is. It doesn’t dry my face out but I still feel like it really cleanses well. I’ve tried many other cleansers over the years, but I keep coming back to this one.

Gentle but drying if you have dry skin type
For context, I have sensitive and dry combination skin (more oil production & less sensitivity to products in my forehead). I also live in a drier climate, which made my skin dry combo instead of normal combo. I've tried to commit to using a mostly all Biossance routine just to see if it all works well together. I've been doing it for ~2.5 months now. I bought my cleanser at Sephora. First impression of this is that it was gentle. I wasn't liking my cleanser before this because that cleanser felt hard to fully wash off, my face was too 'squeaky clean' and it sometimes irritated my skin if I was having a break out. So in comparison, this cleanser definitely washes off nicely but still cleans thoroughly and it's gentle - no issue using it when my skin is irritated. My only complaint is that it dries me out. I still have that squeaky clean feeling (literal squeak). I was hoping it would go away as my skin got adjusted, but it's stayed and I just tried the elderberry cleanser this week and it was a 180 so I do feel certain that this aloe cleanser can be a bit drying. A bit disappointing, I was hoping it wouldn't dry me out because it says non drying but looking at the site, I see this is actually part of an oil control set so that makes sense! I'm going to switch cleansers and try again in the summer when my skin is less dry. But probably a great cleanser for people with a different skin type.

Took a minute to figure it out but I like it!
I've always used cheap cleansers that strip all the oil from my skin because I didn't know any better. So I decided to try Biossance's cleanser and at first I wasn't sure how to use it. I would put it on wet skin like my cheap cleanser but it wouldn't lather. My friend who uses Biossance too says it's not supposed to lather, but I had a hard time keeping enough of it on my face to really massage in if my skin was wet. Now I pat a *very* small amount of water on my face so it's just dewey, then use two pumps of the cleaner and lather it in my damp hands. I massage that into my skin and it feels great. It doesn't dry my skin out and it seems to be doing the job. I'm using a lot of their other products at the same time so unsure what's responsible but my cystic acne has gotten better. Super grateful!
