Squalane is the powerhouse ingredient at the heart of every Biossance formula. It's bioidentical to the moisture found in human skin, making it weightless and instantly absorbed and perfect for use all over the body. Our squalane is derived from sustainable sugarcane, a purer, vegan, more ethical, and more effective version than other forms of squalane. And since it replaces the need for similar moisture taken from the livers of sharks, it saves millions of these critical apex predators per year.
- Squalane oil for the face instantly hydrates and locks in essential moisture.
- Helps boost the absorption of other active ingredients and enables them to work more effectively.
- Promotes microbiome diversity for healthier-looking skin.

JUST ONE INGREDIENT:
Squalane Oil: Weightless, hydrating and high-performing oil, sustainably sourced from sugarcane. Replenishes lost-moisture, helps to maintain hydration and leave the skin exceptionally soft.
1. WHERE DOES YOUR 100% SQUALANE COME FROM? WHY SUGARCANE AND NOT OLIVES?
Traditionally Squalane was harvested from shark liver, though our scientists spent years developing pure Squalane from 100% plant-based, renewable sugarcane. The quality of Squalane produced from olives depends on unreliable factors like weather and crop growth. The quality and purity of our sugarcane Squalane is stable and cost effective.
2. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SQUALANE AND SQUALENE?
The human body produces SqualEne. Squalene is part of our skin's own natural moisture, but the amount made and retained in your skin decreases over time. Our Squalane is a hydrogenated version of Squalene which makes it more suitable for sensitive skin. Additionally, our sugarcane-derived Squalane is a sustainable alternative to the historical production method of squalene from shark liver. Our background in biotechnology allows us to create products that are effective and sustainably sourced wherever possible.
3. WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 100% SQUALANE OIL AND SQUALANE + VITAMIN C ROSE OIL? DO I NEED BOTH?
While they both contain super hydrating Squalane, our Vitamin C Rose Oil also contains...(you guessed it!) Vitamin C and rose essential oil, making it suitable for facial use. Our 100% Squalane Oil can be used head-to-toe as an all-over body, face and hair hydrator.
Squalane Oil For Face: Rub a small amount of pure squalane oil together between hands to warm. Pat gently onto face, neck and décolleté.
Squalane Oil For Body: Massage a few pumps onto skin immediately after showering, paying close attention to areas needing extra hydration like arms, legs, and knees.
Squalane Oil For Hair: Rub a small amount of pure squalane oil between hands and smooth through dry or wet hair to add shine and tame flyaways, split ends and frizz.
TIPS:
Use 100% squalane as a cuticle oil.

Great product, unfortunately...
I’ve been using squalane+vitamin C face oil and didn’t have any adverse reaction so I went ahead and bought this one to use as a daily body moisturizer and unfortunately I am allergic to it. My body is covered with tiny bumps that resemble poison ivy rash.

Amazing
I'm a new Biossance fan, and this was my first purchase. I'm so glad I got this squalane oil! I have dry skin, and I use this on my chest and tummy, and I've noticed a definite difference! My skin is tighter, much more hydrated and just younger looking. I love that it's unscented, as I have sensitive skin too. This is just a fabulous product!

Holy Grail
This is my desert island product. I add a pump to my face serums morning and night when my skin is drier or when I'm staying in the desert, use on my legs every day {what a relief} and add a little over my face as needed during the day. This is light enough to be a great primer and to recommend to my oily skin friends. I'll also run a little between my palms and over my curly hair when it's getting frizzy. I recommend this to everyone. xox... retired makeup artist and skin care expert.

Very Hydrating
On top of life-long sensitive skin, I am now battling dry, aging skin. I am thoroughly impressed with the hydrating properties of this oil.

Light oil
This oils didn't mess up my skin but it really didn't do anything much either. I like to use coconut oil on my face so I wanted to try this oil to see if squalane is any better. But sadly this is more greasy than coconut oil and it just sits on my skin and doesn't get absorbed. But I can still use this oil for my body. I mix the oil with my body lotion and I kinda like it. But oh no don't you ever use this for your hair. I used a tiny bit of oil and my hair for that day was ruined. So greasy like I haven't taken a shower for weeks. Conclusion; this oil is good for the body but I say I don't see much difference from any other oil (vitamin E, jojoba, coconut, grapeseed whatever) so I won't buy it again since it's kinda pricey.
