Traditionally Squalane was harvested from shark liver, though our scientists spent years developing pure Squalane from 100% plant-based, renewable sugarcane. The quality of Squalane produced from olives depends on unreliable factors like weather and crop growth. The quality and purity of our sugarcane Squalane is stable and cost effective.
2. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SQUALANE AND SQUALENE?

Squalane Oil For Face: Rub a small amount of pure squalane oil together between hands to warm. Pat gently onto face, neck and décolleté.
Squalane Oil For Body: Massage a few pumps onto skin immediately after showering, paying close attention to areas needing extra hydration like arms, legs, and knees.
Squalane Oil For Hair: Rub a small amount of pure squalane oil between hands and smooth through dry or wet hair to add shine and tame flyaways, split ends and frizz.

Great Multitasker for Sensitive Skin
I've used Biossance 100% Squalane Oil for several years and keep repurchasing! I have combination sensitive skin with a dx of rosacea and reactive sebhorreic dermatitis (aka perioral dermatitis, super common now for people wear masks in humidity. This oil is safe for people with these conditions and a great multitasker for skincare, cosmetics and haircare. I've dabbled in "cheaper" squalane oils. They are not all equal! Biossance full size is well worth it! My skin did not tolerate the impurities in less refined squalane products, though they may also define themselves as 100% squalane. Sugarcane-sourced seems best for my skin, compared to those derived from olive oils. I use it in my facial skincare routine after serums and ampoules to seal in all that goodness.To speed absorption, I prefer to pump a small amount into my palm then add a spray of Avene Thermal Water, emulsify the oil by rubbing together, then pat onto my skin. I layer after moisturizer depending on the season. I'll even mix this in with my tinted moisturizer or foundation for sheerer coverage! So far, it's played nicely with the La Mer foundation and NYX Bare with Me. Surprisingly, it doesn't seem to speed the break-down of the base and helps the products spread over my skin for a more natural appearance. I use this as a hair oil for my fine 3C curls, either mixed into my leave-in conditioners on damp hair or on my ends as a finisher. Let's not forget, this is a fantastic body product too! I apply to any drier areas or after shaving- it absorbs quickly, doesn't feel heavy and doesn't encourage folliculitis! If I had the patience, I would apply this everywhere after every shower!

Poor Packaging
I love this product, but the pump on the full sized bottle is so poorly constructed that it makes this product only 3 stars in my book. Every time I use it, oil leaks out the side and drips everywhere, wasting a bunch of product. I wouldn’t buy again in the same size.

Love this product!
I love this product as a body oil. It soaks into the skin right away without leaving like a sticky layer on top - which I loathe! I love using this oil and can't wait to give it as a gift!

Great product
One would think greasy when they see the word oil. This is not at all. I apply it on dry areas after I finish my foundation and it’s real moisturizing but not greasy at all. It disappears but you can feel how soft it leaves your face. I bought the big bottle and I would buy it again.

So moisturizing!
I love this product. I suffer from super dry legs. I apply this right after a shower in the evening and throughout the next day my legs are still moisturized. This is the first product I’ve tried that has done that for me. Love it!!! And overall my skin is not itchy like it used to be.

Amazing, long-lasting hydration
Absolutely amazing! I love how quickly it absorbed and kept my hands hydrated through numerous hand washings. My fiancee is a truck driver who hauls cement and his hands are beyond dry, nothing he's ever tried has worked. I tried the 100% squalane oil and he was shocked!! After hours of his hands not drying out like they normally do- he looked at me and said, "I really like this stuff...we can get more, right?"
