Squalane is the powerhouse ingredient at the heart of every Biossance formula. It's bioidentical to the moisture found in human skin, making it weightless and instantly absorbed and perfect for use all over the body. Our squalane is derived from sustainable sugarcane, a purer, vegan, more ethical, and more effective version than other forms of squalane. And since it replaces the need for similar moisture taken from the livers of sharks, it saves millions of these critical apex predators per year.
- Squalane oil for the face instantly hydrates and locks in essential moisture.
- Helps boost the absorption of other active ingredients and enables them to work more effectively.
- Promotes microbiome diversity for healthier-looking skin.

JUST ONE INGREDIENT:
Squalane Oil: Weightless, hydrating and high-performing oil, sustainably sourced from sugarcane. Replenishes lost-moisture, helps to maintain hydration and leave the skin exceptionally soft.
1. WHERE DOES YOUR 100% SQUALANE COME FROM? WHY SUGARCANE AND NOT OLIVES?
Traditionally Squalane was harvested from shark liver, though our scientists spent years developing pure Squalane from 100% plant-based, renewable sugarcane. The quality of Squalane produced from olives depends on unreliable factors like weather and crop growth. The quality and purity of our sugarcane Squalane is stable and cost effective.
2. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SQUALANE AND SQUALENE?
The human body produces SqualEne. Squalene is part of our skin's own natural moisture, but the amount made and retained in your skin decreases over time. Our Squalane is a hydrogenated version of Squalene which makes it more suitable for sensitive skin. Additionally, our sugarcane-derived Squalane is a sustainable alternative to the historical production method of squalene from shark liver. Our background in biotechnology allows us to create products that are effective and sustainably sourced wherever possible.
3. WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 100% SQUALANE OIL AND SQUALANE + VITAMIN C ROSE OIL? DO I NEED BOTH?
While they both contain super hydrating Squalane, our Vitamin C Rose Oil also contains...(you guessed it!) Vitamin C and rose essential oil, making it suitable for facial use. Our 100% Squalane Oil can be used head-to-toe as an all-over body, face and hair hydrator.
How To Use: Apply to face, body and hair as needed. Great after the shower and post-sun exposure. Safe for all ages.
For face, rub a small amount together between hands to warm. Pat gently onto face, neck and décolleté. For body, massage a few pumps onto skin immediately after showering. For hair, rub a small amount between hands and smooth through dry or wet hair to add shine and tame flyaways, split ends and frizz.
When To Use: Day and night, head-to-toe.
Layering Tip: Start with your cleanser, next, apply eye treatment, follow with a serum and finally your moisturizer. Apply 100% Squalane Oil last to lock in hydration.

Great addition to my skincare
I really love this oil and how great it makes my skin feel and look especially after showering . It’s much better than using cream or lotion. I love that it doesn’t have a smell that will interfere with any fragrance I may decide to wear!

So impressed.
So impressed with this lightweight oil. I've used it two ways: 1) in the shower after sweeping excess water off my skin. I can tell the oil is on because little water droplets form after application (i.e., water surface tension). 2) straight on the skin for a lightweight moisturizer (sometimes followed with lotion - I'm still experimenting). It is already making a difference on the zillions of little bumps on my upper arms and upper legs (keratosis). I'm sold. Just bought another bottle as a gift for my cousin because it seems universally helpful - it blends in so easily, is so lightweight, yet provides some substantial moisture.

Excellent Oil
I have dry mature skin and I use this oil over top of my all my skincare at night. Sometimes just use this alone with a tinted moisturizer. It’s a dry oil and not real greasy.

100% Squalane Oil
I'm rating this product a 1 star because of the packaging. Every time I pump out the oil, it spills and gather at the bottom of the pump or dribs down!! Please change the nozzle or the packaging?

Great body oil
I have been using Osea Body Oil but it’s a bit heavy in summer months. I got this on sale and love it. It goes on great and absorbs fast. Will definitely buy another bottle.
