Squalane is the powerhouse ingredient at the heart of every Biossance formula. It's bioidentical to the moisture found in human skin, making it weightless and instantly absorbed and perfect for use all over the body. Our squalane is derived from sustainable sugarcane, a purer, vegan, more ethical, and more effective version than other forms of squalane. And since it replaces the need for similar moisture taken from the livers of sharks, it saves millions of these critical apex predators per year.
- Squalane oil for the face instantly hydrates and locks in essential moisture.
- Helps boost the absorption of other active ingredients and enables them to work more effectively.
- Promotes microbiome diversity for healthier-looking skin.

JUST ONE INGREDIENT:
Squalane Oil: Weightless, hydrating and high-performing oil, sustainably sourced from sugarcane. Replenishes lost-moisture, helps to maintain hydration and leave the skin exceptionally soft.
1. WHERE DOES YOUR 100% SQUALANE COME FROM? WHY SUGARCANE AND NOT OLIVES?
Traditionally Squalane was harvested from shark liver, though our scientists spent years developing pure Squalane from 100% plant-based, renewable sugarcane. The quality of Squalane produced from olives depends on unreliable factors like weather and crop growth. The quality and purity of our sugarcane Squalane is stable and cost effective.
2. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SQUALANE AND SQUALENE?
The human body produces SqualEne. Squalene is part of our skin's own natural moisture, but the amount made and retained in your skin decreases over time. Our Squalane is a hydrogenated version of Squalene which makes it more suitable for sensitive skin. Additionally, our sugarcane-derived Squalane is a sustainable alternative to the historical production method of squalene from shark liver. Our background in biotechnology allows us to create products that are effective and sustainably sourced wherever possible.
3. WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 100% SQUALANE OIL AND SQUALANE + VITAMIN C ROSE OIL? DO I NEED BOTH?
While they both contain super hydrating Squalane, our Vitamin C Rose Oil also contains...(you guessed it!) Vitamin C and rose essential oil, making it suitable for facial use. Our 100% Squalane Oil can be used head-to-toe as an all-over body, face and hair hydrator.
Squalane Oil For Face: Rub a small amount of pure squalane oil together between hands to warm. Pat gently onto face, neck and décolleté.
Squalane Oil For Body: Massage a few pumps onto skin immediately after showering, paying close attention to areas needing extra hydration like arms, legs, and knees.
Squalane Oil For Hair: Rub a small amount of pure squalane oil between hands and smooth through dry or wet hair to add shine and tame flyaways, split ends and frizz.
TIPS:
Use 100% squalane as a cuticle oil.

GAME CHANGER!
This product is AMAZING! My skin gets really dry during the colder months and this product is SO hydrating. It makes my skin feel so smooth and nourished without making it feel oily. I use the body brush prior to showering and then this after, applying on my body and then less than a dime size to my hair and it’s been a game changer! 10/10

Amazing products!
I have used the squalene oil, the sunscreen, and the plant retinol cream, and they have transformed my skin! It looks better now than it did 15 years ago! This is my new brand for life! I really love the purity of the ingredients, also, thank you so much for that! It would be great if Biossance made a makeup line, also!

Beautifully moisturizing
The dry radiator heat in my building always sucks the life from my skin every winter. I would use several layers of creams, toners, and serums, topped with an occlusive every night and still wake up to tight, flaky skin. Adding only this oil to my routine made a big difference to the moisture level in my skin. I wouldn't say it did more than moisturize, but that's totally fine. So glad that it's in a pump bottle instead of a glass dropper like so many other facial oils. The size is a great value, especially when purchased during their annual sale.

High hopes - dashed. ☹️
I’d received a sample of “the Revitalizer” made by Biossance and was amazed at how it helped lessen my wrinkles especially around the eyes. I decided to order it - but couldn’t find this product on the website. So, I ordered the 100% Squalane. I’ve used it for about a week and it doesn’t do the job nearly as well. What happened? I’m wondering if the Revitalizer had different ingredients? So disappointed as I thought I’d found a really superb product that was also natural and safe. I’d be interested in your response. Thank you! Mary

Great Oil, Bad Bottle
Love the facial oil. Leaves my face soft and moisturized without feeling greasy or heavy. My one complaint is the bottle. The top leaked with every pump, dripping oil all down the sides of the bottle. I imagine traveling with it would result in worse spills. I bought a new glass container with a dropper top to store the oil.

Great Oil
It’s wonderful and hydrating …just wish it was bigger. I go through the bottle quickly so it is more of a luxury item. Too cost prohibitive for everyday. Keep in mind I’m using this as a body oil, not just face.

Just what I needed
This is perfect to use over the photo retinol or lactic acidosis at night. My skin looks better in the morning and is hydrated.

Love
My sister purchased this first and I ended up needing to go to her bathroom so often so I bought one for myself lol! I love this oil. It goes anywhere and everywhere and it doesn't feel greasy nor does it clog my pores. I have dry patches on my cheeks and my skin absorbs it immediately. I love massaging my face with this oil and once I'm done, I put any excess on my hair ends and my hair loves it too. It's also fragrance free and I absolutely love that about this oil because I can put my own essential oils (usually lavender) if I need to but most of the time I don't. I live in Northern California (Sacramento area) where the air is pretty dry most of the time, so with my dry skin (I also have eczema on my hands and this helps so much) this oil has honestly been a true friend. I've recently relocated to Texas and the humidity is no joke, so I'm hoping this oil comes in handy for my hair!! I wish it came in a glass bottle and as a dropper rather than a pump. I usually only use 1-5 drops when I pump it out, so I have to be pretty careful about that. Even though the pump is super smooth and it doesn't squirt out like other pumps, I would still prefer a dropper. Overall this is my favorite oil I have ever EVER used and it's definitely worth its price point.

the perfect oil
I'm in my 60s, with dry skin, and this oil is the perfect fix for me. It's light, moisturizing, has little or no scent and just plain feels good when i rub it in. I use it on my face in the mornings, on my hair and body after a shower. I keep a travel size in my bag for quick hand or hair touch ups.
