Squalane is the powerhouse ingredient at the heart of every Biossance formula. It's bioidentical to the moisture found in human skin, making it weightless and instantly absorbed and perfect for use all over the body. Our squalane is derived from sustainable sugarcane, a purer, vegan, more ethical, and more effective version than other forms of squalane. And since it replaces the need for similar moisture taken from the livers of sharks, it saves millions of these critical apex predators per year.
- Squalane oil for the face instantly hydrates and locks in essential moisture.
- Helps boost the absorption of other active ingredients and enables them to work more effectively.
- Promotes microbiome diversity for healthier-looking skin.

JUST ONE INGREDIENT:
Squalane Oil: Weightless, hydrating and high-performing oil, sustainably sourced from sugarcane. Replenishes lost-moisture, helps to maintain hydration and leave the skin exceptionally soft.
1. WHERE DOES YOUR 100% SQUALANE COME FROM? WHY SUGARCANE AND NOT OLIVES?
Traditionally Squalane was harvested from shark liver, though our scientists spent years developing pure Squalane from 100% plant-based, renewable sugarcane. The quality of Squalane produced from olives depends on unreliable factors like weather and crop growth. The quality and purity of our sugarcane Squalane is stable and cost effective.
2. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SQUALANE AND SQUALENE?
The human body produces SqualEne. Squalene is part of our skin's own natural moisture, but the amount made and retained in your skin decreases over time. Our Squalane is a hydrogenated version of Squalene which makes it more suitable for sensitive skin. Additionally, our sugarcane-derived Squalane is a sustainable alternative to the historical production method of squalene from shark liver. Our background in biotechnology allows us to create products that are effective and sustainably sourced wherever possible.
3. WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 100% SQUALANE OIL AND SQUALANE + VITAMIN C ROSE OIL? DO I NEED BOTH?
While they both contain super hydrating Squalane, our Vitamin C Rose Oil also contains...(you guessed it!) Vitamin C and rose essential oil, making it suitable for facial use. Our 100% Squalane Oil can be used head-to-toe as an all-over body, face and hair hydrator.
Squalane Oil For Face: Rub a small amount of pure squalane oil together between hands to warm. Pat gently onto face, neck and décolleté.
Squalane Oil For Body: Massage a few pumps onto skin immediately after showering, paying close attention to areas needing extra hydration like arms, legs, and knees.
Squalane Oil For Hair: Rub a small amount of pure squalane oil between hands and smooth through dry or wet hair to add shine and tame flyaways, split ends and frizz.
TIPS:
Use 100% squalane as a cuticle oil.

PERFECTION!
I purchased the jumbo size on account of "I hope this works, I'm out of options" and it did NOT DISAPPOINT! This stuff is INCREDIBLE! I have eczema and my skin sometimes gets flakey and irritated. I used some this morning after my shower and my skin is glowing! And it's not oily! Lifetime fan now! Get it!

THE BEST BEARD OIL
If you're someone (or know someone) with acne-prone skin and a beard this is a game-changer. I would always worry about using beard oils because I was afraid they would clog my pores and cause acne, so I'd avoid them. I ended up with a dry, itchy, and uncomfortable beard. Squalane oil makes the perfect unscented non-comedogenic beard oil. It's not greasy or unnecessarily scented, and it allows me to have a well-conditioned and moisturized beard (and the skin underneath!) without worrying about causing acne or irritation.

It's basically OLIVE OIL
After doing some really great searching which included calling a few distributors that make Squalene oil, they told me all they use to make it is Olives. There's only a handful of companies that make it for other companies and they all said the same thing. It's Olive oil, glorified Olive oil that you get at the supermarket for about $45.00 cheaper than on here. I'm not knocking your product, but others should know. Let them choose to take your scented (which they can add scent to theirs at home too) or just go and buy some and add the scent you want to it!

Amazing
My fiancée gets the driest, itchiest scalp in the winter and this is the only thing that helps him (and both of our dry winter skin). Our holy grail! I just wish they had this in a shampoo and conditioner!!

Amazing!!!
Hello! I've been using Biossance the 100% Squalane Oil for about 3 months and my skin looks amazing! I put it on after I wash my face and mix it it with my moisturizer and also put it on at night directly to my skin. I've also used it on my 5 years olds chapped skin and it's completely healed. I work as a professional makeup artist in Chicago and everyone's skin is super dry. I'll mix a couple of drops into foundation or a serum before I apply it to a bride and their skin looks beautiful and glowing. I also mix it into my own foundation, use it on my lips, hands and have even dabbed a little into my hair to give it shine. I 100% recommend this product to everyone who wants amazing skin!
