Squalane is the powerhouse ingredient at the heart of every Biossance formula. It's bioidentical to the moisture found in human skin, making it weightless and instantly absorbed and perfect for use all over the body. Our squalane is derived from sustainable sugarcane, a purer, vegan, more ethical, and more effective version than other forms of squalane. And since it replaces the need for similar moisture taken from the livers of sharks, it saves millions of these critical apex predators per year.
- Squalane oil for the face instantly hydrates and locks in essential moisture.
- Helps boost the absorption of other active ingredients and enables them to work more effectively.
- Promotes microbiome diversity for healthier-looking skin.

JUST ONE INGREDIENT:
Squalane Oil: Weightless, hydrating and high-performing oil, sustainably sourced from sugarcane. Replenishes lost-moisture, helps to maintain hydration and leave the skin exceptionally soft.
1. WHERE DOES YOUR 100% SQUALANE COME FROM? WHY SUGARCANE AND NOT OLIVES?
Traditionally Squalane was harvested from shark liver, though our scientists spent years developing pure Squalane from 100% plant-based, renewable sugarcane. The quality of Squalane produced from olives depends on unreliable factors like weather and crop growth. The quality and purity of our sugarcane Squalane is stable and cost effective.
2. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SQUALANE AND SQUALENE?
The human body produces SqualEne. Squalene is part of our skin's own natural moisture, but the amount made and retained in your skin decreases over time. Our Squalane is a hydrogenated version of Squalene which makes it more suitable for sensitive skin. Additionally, our sugarcane-derived Squalane is a sustainable alternative to the historical production method of squalene from shark liver. Our background in biotechnology allows us to create products that are effective and sustainably sourced wherever possible.
3. WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 100% SQUALANE OIL AND SQUALANE + VITAMIN C ROSE OIL? DO I NEED BOTH?
While they both contain super hydrating Squalane, our Vitamin C Rose Oil also contains...(you guessed it!) Vitamin C and rose essential oil, making it suitable for facial use. Our 100% Squalane Oil can be used head-to-toe as an all-over body, face and hair hydrator.
How To Use: Apply to face, body and hair as needed. Great after the shower and post-sun exposure. Safe for all ages.
For face, rub a small amount together between hands to warm. Pat gently onto face, neck and décolleté. For body, massage a few pumps onto skin immediately after showering. For hair, rub a small amount between hands and smooth through dry or wet hair to add shine and tame flyaways, split ends and frizz.
When To Use: Day and night, head-to-toe.
Layering Tip: Start with your cleanser, next, apply eye treatment, follow with a serum and finally your moisturizer. Apply 100% Squalane Oil last to lock in hydration.

A little goes a long way
I hope this stuff is stable for a long time, because it takes just a little to make my skin super soft. I mix in a little to the repair cream and get the best of both worlds.

The best!
I got a sample of squalane oil about 3 years ago. I have been using all of the products ever since. I even got the large bottle because my kids and husband use it. Simply amazing! I’m turning 40 soon and everyone wants to know my secret for looking 30!

I Like What It Does for Me
But, I don’t like the feeling of oil on my face or hands. It does absorb quickly, but like most oils there is always the residue, not on my face, my hands. I have never been able to use lotion or oils on my hands unless they completely absorb immediately. The feeling is not something I like at all. The Squalane Oil does help replenish my glow, and brighten my cheeks, even out my tone. It is an absolutely wonderful skincare product. I have very dry skin on my thighs in the winter, but only the front of them, the Squalane Oil softens and soothes them, but nothing I try lasts very long. The Squalane seems to be staying much longer and it smells so good.
