Squalane is the powerhouse ingredient at the heart of every Biossance formula. It's bioidentical to the moisture found in human skin, making it weightless and instantly absorbed and perfect for use all over the body. Our squalane is derived from sustainable sugarcane, a purer, vegan, more ethical, and more effective version than other forms of squalane. And since it replaces the need for similar moisture taken from the livers of sharks, it saves millions of these critical apex predators per year.
- Squalane oil for the face instantly hydrates and locks in essential moisture.
- Helps boost the absorption of other active ingredients and enables them to work more effectively.
- Promotes microbiome diversity for healthier-looking skin.

JUST ONE INGREDIENT:
Squalane Oil: Weightless, hydrating and high-performing oil, sustainably sourced from sugarcane. Replenishes lost-moisture, helps to maintain hydration and leave the skin exceptionally soft.
1. WHERE DOES YOUR 100% SQUALANE COME FROM? WHY SUGARCANE AND NOT OLIVES?
Traditionally Squalane was harvested from shark liver, though our scientists spent years developing pure Squalane from 100% plant-based, renewable sugarcane. The quality of Squalane produced from olives depends on unreliable factors like weather and crop growth. The quality and purity of our sugarcane Squalane is stable and cost effective.
2. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SQUALANE AND SQUALENE?
The human body produces SqualEne. Squalene is part of our skin's own natural moisture, but the amount made and retained in your skin decreases over time. Our Squalane is a hydrogenated version of Squalene which makes it more suitable for sensitive skin. Additionally, our sugarcane-derived Squalane is a sustainable alternative to the historical production method of squalene from shark liver. Our background in biotechnology allows us to create products that are effective and sustainably sourced wherever possible.
3. WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 100% SQUALANE OIL AND SQUALANE + VITAMIN C ROSE OIL? DO I NEED BOTH?
While they both contain super hydrating Squalane, our Vitamin C Rose Oil also contains...(you guessed it!) Vitamin C and rose essential oil, making it suitable for facial use. Our 100% Squalane Oil can be used head-to-toe as an all-over body, face and hair hydrator.
How To Use: Apply to face, body and hair as needed. Great after the shower and post-sun exposure. Safe for all ages.
For face, rub a small amount together between hands to warm. Pat gently onto face, neck and décolleté. For body, massage a few pumps onto skin immediately after showering. For hair, rub a small amount between hands and smooth through dry or wet hair to add shine and tame flyaways, split ends and frizz.
When To Use: Day and night, head-to-toe.
Layering Tip: Start with your cleanser, next, apply eye treatment, follow with a serum and finally your moisturizer. Apply 100% Squalane Oil last to lock in hydration.

super sensitive skin
If you have extremely sensitive skin, you face reacts to 98% of the skincare products out there, then you have to use this. When I feel like my skin is breaking out, or is reacting to a product after the application, I put this oil on and it instantly feels cool and subtle. Before I would use jojoba oil because its a natural oil but now I bring this squalane oil everyyyyyy where.

Love it! :)
I’ve never heard of or have used squalane oil prior to this — and to be honest it has done wonders for my skin. I won’t conclude that this product alone has done it all because I recently have started a new beauty regime and have used new products along with this one, but it has definitely added to the wellness of my skin. It’s very light, fast absorbing and moisturizing. I just wish Biossance wasn’t so expensive — I got the sample size (0.4oz for $8) to try it out. I also got a squalane oil from a different brand and they’re practically identical (the other one is a bang for your buck when compared, so I may be purchasing from them instead). Other than that, I’m happy with it! :)

It’s ok
It’s not bad. I don’t like the thick texture. It’s hard to apply and it has sticky feeling. Not good for hair. Even a tiny amount makes hair super greasy. I liked how it worked on my face. Leaving skin glowing, smooth and healthy looking

New fave!
I'm skeptical of using oils because I'm acne-prone, but I also have pretty sensitive and super dry skin, so I decided to give this a try. I also suffer from eczema, and knowing I could use this all over my body and not just on my face was a contributing factor. A little of this going a LONG way. I use barely even half a pump for my entire face. I get very dry in the space between my eyebrows, and this has helped clear it up. Also I had a pretty gnarly patch of neck and chest eczema that I couldn't get to go away, and I put this on after my shower last night, then put my usual moisturizer on top of it, and woke up to clear skin! I'll definitely be repurchasing once my bottle runs out, but I think it'll take a while.

Game changer for oily skin
I used to think my skin was oily so I would buy a lot of oil free deep cleansing items to wash my face. A couple hours later it would get oily again. I took a chance on this after a recommendation, and I have never had issues with oily skin again. It’s great to have a makeup remover and cleanser in one. The only thing I noticed as a negative: I have used this product for almost two years and never had an issue with it irritating my eyes. I have a new bottle and it always seems to make my eyes sting. Maybe they changed the formula, I hope it doesn’t continue.

This has become a favorite!
I LOVE the squalane oil! I originally received it in a mystery box and I'm SOOOO glad I did! I use it all the time. I use it on my entire body after getting out of the shower and drying off. A little goes a long way, so it's an amazing value! You can even add a little of your own essential oil if you wanna add a scent, but it's a very minimal scent/unscented on it's own. I would highly recommend trying this if you haven't already. It's light, but very moisturizing and NOT greasy!
