Squalane is the powerhouse ingredient at the heart of every Biossance formula. It's bioidentical to the moisture found in human skin, making it weightless and instantly absorbed and perfect for use all over the body. Our squalane is derived from sustainable sugarcane, a purer, vegan, more ethical, and more effective version than other forms of squalane. And since it replaces the need for similar moisture taken from the livers of sharks, it saves millions of these critical apex predators per year.
- Squalane oil for the face instantly hydrates and locks in essential moisture.
- Helps boost the absorption of other active ingredients and enables them to work more effectively.
- Promotes microbiome diversity for healthier-looking skin.

JUST ONE INGREDIENT:
Squalane Oil: Weightless, hydrating and high-performing oil, sustainably sourced from sugarcane. Replenishes lost-moisture, helps to maintain hydration and leave the skin exceptionally soft.
1. WHERE DOES YOUR 100% SQUALANE COME FROM? WHY SUGARCANE AND NOT OLIVES?
Traditionally Squalane was harvested from shark liver, though our scientists spent years developing pure Squalane from 100% plant-based, renewable sugarcane. The quality of Squalane produced from olives depends on unreliable factors like weather and crop growth. The quality and purity of our sugarcane Squalane is stable and cost effective.
2. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SQUALANE AND SQUALENE?
The human body produces SqualEne. Squalene is part of our skin's own natural moisture, but the amount made and retained in your skin decreases over time. Our Squalane is a hydrogenated version of Squalene which makes it more suitable for sensitive skin. Additionally, our sugarcane-derived Squalane is a sustainable alternative to the historical production method of squalene from shark liver. Our background in biotechnology allows us to create products that are effective and sustainably sourced wherever possible.
3. WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 100% SQUALANE OIL AND SQUALANE + VITAMIN C ROSE OIL? DO I NEED BOTH?
While they both contain super hydrating Squalane, our Vitamin C Rose Oil also contains...(you guessed it!) Vitamin C and rose essential oil, making it suitable for facial use. Our 100% Squalane Oil can be used head-to-toe as an all-over body, face and hair hydrator.
How To Use: Apply to face, body and hair as needed. Great after the shower and post-sun exposure. Safe for all ages.
For face, rub a small amount together between hands to warm. Pat gently onto face, neck and décolleté. For body, massage a few pumps onto skin immediately after showering. For hair, rub a small amount between hands and smooth through dry or wet hair to add shine and tame flyaways, split ends and frizz.
When To Use: Day and night, head-to-toe.
Layering Tip: Start with your cleanser, next, apply eye treatment, follow with a serum and finally your moisturizer. Apply 100% Squalane Oil last to lock in hydration.

Excellent Oil
I love to use this oil at night after moisturizer to seal in the hydration on my face. I haven’t had any break-outs on my sensitive skin. I also use it on my body after showers. It’s a light oil that absorbs quickly with no fragrance. I’m so happy to have found this beauty line!

Just okay
It does provide moisture but I’m not a fan of the oily nature of it, I learned I prefer a creamy moisturizer instead. It does soak in and provide some moisture to my skin, but not a crazy impressive amount. I tried it on my hair too and wasn’t really impressed. I would put my money somewhere else.

Too oily for me
It’s too heavy or oily to use on my face and pricey for body oil.

Bye Bye Dry Skin
I have thoroughly enjoyed this product because it was just what I needed to enhance my fall/winter skin regimen. I had noticed that my face was very dry shortly after my morning routine which was unusual; so I decided to take the moisture up a notch. This was exactly what my skin was craving.

Love this oil!
I purchased this mainly to use as a bath and body oil. It didn’t disappoint. I use a few drops in my bath water and then use it in place of a lotion once I’m out. My skin feels wonderful, and it’s especially good in these winter months.

The perfect “all over” product
Love this oil. I use it as a moisturizer year round. It goes on a little oily but soaks into my skin so nicely for a perfect glow✨ I use it head to toe (literally) for my hair, face, and bod.

Love!
I love this oil! I put it on before my moisturizer at pm and sometimes am, and it really moisturizers without being overly oily. My skin gets dry in the winter, so this has been a life saver! I have sensitive skin and have no issues with this product
