Squalane is the powerhouse ingredient at the heart of every Biossance formula. It's bioidentical to the moisture found in human skin, making it weightless and instantly absorbed and perfect for use all over the body. Our squalane is derived from sustainable sugarcane, a purer, vegan, more ethical, and more effective version than other forms of squalane. And since it replaces the need for similar moisture taken from the livers of sharks, it saves millions of these critical apex predators per year.
- Squalane oil for the face instantly hydrates and locks in essential moisture.
- Helps boost the absorption of other active ingredients and enables them to work more effectively.
- Promotes microbiome diversity for healthier-looking skin.

JUST ONE INGREDIENT:
Squalane Oil: Weightless, hydrating and high-performing oil, sustainably sourced from sugarcane. Replenishes lost-moisture, helps to maintain hydration and leave the skin exceptionally soft.
1. WHERE DOES YOUR 100% SQUALANE COME FROM? WHY SUGARCANE AND NOT OLIVES?
Traditionally Squalane was harvested from shark liver, though our scientists spent years developing pure Squalane from 100% plant-based, renewable sugarcane. The quality of Squalane produced from olives depends on unreliable factors like weather and crop growth. The quality and purity of our sugarcane Squalane is stable and cost effective.
2. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SQUALANE AND SQUALENE?
The human body produces SqualEne. Squalene is part of our skin's own natural moisture, but the amount made and retained in your skin decreases over time. Our Squalane is a hydrogenated version of Squalene which makes it more suitable for sensitive skin. Additionally, our sugarcane-derived Squalane is a sustainable alternative to the historical production method of squalene from shark liver. Our background in biotechnology allows us to create products that are effective and sustainably sourced wherever possible.
3. WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 100% SQUALANE OIL AND SQUALANE + VITAMIN C ROSE OIL? DO I NEED BOTH?
While they both contain super hydrating Squalane, our Vitamin C Rose Oil also contains...(you guessed it!) Vitamin C and rose essential oil, making it suitable for facial use. Our 100% Squalane Oil can be used head-to-toe as an all-over body, face and hair hydrator.
Squalane Oil For Face: Rub a small amount of pure squalane oil together between hands to warm. Pat gently onto face, neck and décolleté.
Squalane Oil For Body: Massage a few pumps onto skin immediately after showering, paying close attention to areas needing extra hydration like arms, legs, and knees.
Squalane Oil For Hair: Rub a small amount of pure squalane oil between hands and smooth through dry or wet hair to add shine and tame flyaways, split ends and frizz.
TIPS:
Use 100% squalane as a cuticle oil.

It’s good stuff!
Absorbs quickly and leaves skin smooth with a healthy glow. I use on my body and face and I pat the excess left on my hands on my hair to smooth. No scent, which I like.

Try it, you’ll love it!
Amazing! I didn’t even know what it was but read about it on site, ordered it and couldn’t be more pleased with the softness it has restored to my skin! Five stars all the way!

Love the product but can we tweak the bottle?
I stopped using it because it leaks from the shaft of the pump. Not sure if this happens for everyone or if mine was just defective. But it gets all over the bottle. I prefer the dropper for my oils. This way I can control how much is coming out vs the pump. I hope y’all change this soon!!

For the Whole Family.
Ranging from 6 years old to 60, our whole family uses and loves Biossance! After a bath, for a massage, to help manage unruly dry hair or just to sooth dry hands… We all use it every day!

Great for skin and hair!
I love it for my skin but I must say the unexpected benefit for my hair was a surprise. I have thin color treated hair and I use a tiny amount on bottom half of hair and not greasy or weighed down and my hair looked great no frizz! Oh

Love the feel
I purchased the travel size and will be getting the full-size as soon as its done. This oil feels pretty light and not very greasy. It also doesn't feel like it's just sitting atop my skin. I like using it after I use a chemical exfoliant.

Love love love this brand
I’ve not found a brand my skin doesn’t react to so for 30+ years all I have used is simple UNTIL NOW!! Found by accident when using a sample and instantly my skin hadn’t felt or looked better. Now in my mid 40s I’m over the moon to be able to use a brand that will hopefully nourish my skin for many years
