1. WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE FROM PRESCRIPTION-STRENGTH RETINOL?
Retinoids are the group of Vitamin A derivatives that have been proven to stimulate cell renewal. The active ingredient of Vitamin A is retinoic acid. This serum contains two powerfully gentle retinoid ingredients, retinaldehyde and retinol. The retinaldehyde in this formula is time released to ensure maximum stability and absorption while allowing the Vitamin A active work gradually while you sleep for maximum efficacy.
2. WHY SHOULD I ONLY USE THIS AT NIGHT?
We recommend this serum in evening use because retinol and retinal can cause sensitivity to the sun. It is also important to wear a daily sunscreen every morning and reapply during the day.
3. DOES THIS PRODUCT QUALIFY FOR CLEAN AT SEPHORA?
Yes, our Squalane + Retinol Night Serum is part of the Clean at Sephora collection. This serum is best for those concerned with signs of aging, including fine lines, wrinkles and uneven skin tone. It can be used both as a preventative and corrective treatment, but it should not be used while pregnant.
4. HOW CAN I COMBINE WITH OTHER BIOSSANCE SERUMS?
We recommend using Squalane + Retinol Night Serum in the evening and choosing a day serum, like our Squalane + Vitamin C Dark Spot Serum or Squalane + Copper Peptide Serum. Be sure to start using a small, pea size quantity of retinol when starting out, even alternating between the nights used. Since our retinol is a powerful serum, we don't recommend layering with other treatment products, but encourage you to layer with other moisturizers and oils.
5. WHY DOES THIS INCLUDE BOTH RETINOL AND RETINAL?
Retinol and retinal work together to increase performance and minimize irritation of the skin for powerful, yet gentle results.
Apply pea-size amount to clean, dry skin at night.
Start by using 2x per week and gradually increase.
Apply sunscreen the following morning after use.

Great product, but too much waste
Short version: This is a good product but too much is wasted by not being able to get it out of the bottle. I like this product and think it has helped my skin. When I thought I was running low at the end of November, I purchased a second bottle. However, there turned out to be so much still in the bottle, after the pump stopped working, that I am still using the original bottle in early January, and there is still apparently a great deal in the bottle that I will not be able to get out. I'll use the second bottle as well, but when it comes time to replace that, I will look for something in packaging that allows for more to be gotten out of the container.

Hello Healthier Skin!
I started using every other night and now use every night. I use 2 to 3 pumps. I've been using for about a month. My skin feels and looks healthier. Very pleased with the results.

The WORST BOTTLE-waste of money
This product is packaged in a glass bottle with straw and pump inside. Due to the thicker nature of the serum, it is so difficult to get the product out of the bottle. 30-40% of serum ends up stuck on the sides/bottom of the bottle and the pump/straw doesn’t work. I had to use a Q-tip to get the product out- and even that is difficult because the opening of the bottle is small. For an expensive product, I wish Biossance would change the packaging. The actual serum works well and does not dry my skin.

Average results
Retinol is not as effective. The Squalane Omega Repair night cream is very thick and super greasy. The eye cream is also thick and greasy. Not my favorites. Won't buy again.

Good product
I am currently pregnant so I am unable to use this product; however, I’ve noticed a change in my skin since taking it out of my regular use. I do love that the squalane gives moisturizing qualities while the retinol does its job. My skin always has a nice glow after using.

What to use where and when ?
I like the way it feels on my face, but I do not get the results in the pictures My daughter says she has. I’d like a step by step how to apply the product. Which goes first? let dry between applications? What to use during the day vs night or both but indicate in which order. Also helpful would be to understand what does not go near the eyes and which are ok (vitamin c moisturizer or oil?? Ok bear eyes? Serums ?

Brightens skin & improves texture!
Have to 1st let your skin get comfortable w/ this. Once that happens, your skin will look beautiful, uniform in tone & texture, and plump! The 1st time I put on too much (2-3 pumps directly on my face) and it did irritate my skin. I let my skin rest for a week & then used 1 pump mixed w/ the Omega Repair Cream, every alt day for a week. After that, I used 1 pump directly on my skin & woke up to my skin feeling & looking fantastic. Very happy w/ this product as it has transformed my skin for the better.

Love it
I'm 30, have combo skin type and I've been using this for about a year now. I definitely won't replace it. I lived in a very dry climate when I first tried it and now I live in a very humid climate. There is no difference in how it effects my skin. I love the application of the product and waking up with my skin feeling great. I actually recommended it to my mom to try and she loves it too.
