I have converted to this lip balm from using the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. While Laneige has slightly higher reviews (also prob due to having more reviews in general), I converted to this for several reasons. 1)Biossance lip balm comes with more product and is several dollars cheaper. 2)The ingredients are virtually non toxic and are EWG certified, versus Laneige which is NOT EWG certified and actually has an EWG toxicity rating of 5 (that’s borderline a little too high for me). I want something that is nontoxic if I’m going to be using it every night for years to come. This is important because whether you like it or not, you will unintentionally ingest small amounts of this stuff overtime because it goes on your lips, duh! 3) Laneige is slightly toxic and is not vegan and uses artificial coloring from beetles. Biossance does not contain artificial coloring and I don’t need it anyway because I can always use a tinted lip color or lipstick and this stuff over it. 4) Users have complained/claimed that Laneige is “more hydrating” but I honestly don’t see A difference. I think Laneige is lightly thicker and waxier but does not contain ingredients that will help in the long term. At least Biossance contains squalane which is great for long term skin health and collagen. Laneige is just thick pink Vaseline and doesn’t do much for you long term. I love Biossance, it’s vegan and moisturizing and does the job! Also, I’ve heard that using too much lip balm can actually make your lips dryer. Ideally I only use this at night before bed. Only sometimes I will use it first thing in the morning if I’m about to go outside or into a cold air conditioned/dry environment as extra protection.
Loooovvving it. I purchased immediately after seeing the Jonathan Van Ness from ***** eye online talking about it (he's right about the eyebrows). One week of use and super happy with it. My 38 yr old and winter lips needed a little more than beeswax and this is doing the trick. I would suggest a move toward a more eco friendly packaging or offset.
I bought one of the starter sets for travel and this lip balm came with it. I have used the same lip balm by Terry for years and will now only use this one! I thought it would be calming and beneficial, but it gives a lovely subtle shine and plump so use it through out the day. Highly recommend.
It's really hydrating and gives you a very subtle plump. I saw changes in my chapped lips the very next day. Will be buying for my relatives!
