Squalane + Zinc Sheer Mineral Sunscreen

Directions:

Apply our sheer zinc mineral sunscreen 15 minutes before sun exposure. Wear alone or layer over your favorite Biossance serum and your favorite moisturizer. It can also be used in place of your moisturizer. Perfect under makeup. Reapply as necessary.

• 1What do you mean by “clean sunscreen”?

  Our sunscreen is mineral-based instead of containing chemical sunscreen agents. What this means is that instead of penetrating into the skin and absorbing damaging rays, Squalane + Zinc Sheer Mineral Sunscreen disperses reflective minerals onto the skin, reflecting the rays away from the skin. In addition, studies indicate that some chemical UV filters may mimic hormones, and physicians report sunscreen-related skin allergies, which raises important questions about unintended human health consequences from frequent sunscreen application (source, EWG). Our goal is to create a sunscreen that protects the skin without causing unnecessary concerns.

• 2What is the difference between mineral and chemical sunscreen?

  Mineral sunscreens use Zinc and Titanium, to reflect UV Rays, whereas chemical sunscreens absorb UV rays.

• 3Why use only zinc and not titanium?

  Zinc Oxide offers broad spectrum protection and blends in more easily for all skin tones.

• 4Does this replace a moisturizer?

  Typically we recommend moisturizer and SPF. This can replace a moisturizer as it provides protection with hydration so it is perfect for a minimalist routine. If you prefer to use a regular moisturizer as well, be sure to use that first followed by the sunscreen.

• 5Does this protect against blue light?

  No, this does not protect against blue light.

• 6What does PA+++ mean?

  PA+++ refers to a measure of protection against UVA rays. Squalane + Zinc Sheer Mineral Sunscreen is broad spectrum and protects against both UVA & UVB rays.

• 7Is this sunscreen waterproof/ water resistant?

  This is your daily sunscreen. If you are going to be in and out of water, make sure you reapply. It is not water resistant.
