Celebrating Natural Beauty And Sustainably-Sourced Copper Peptides in Canada

Biossance visits Lake Louise to learn about sustainably sourced ingredients

What does our Squalane + Copper Peptide Rapid Plumping Serum have in common with Canada’s Lake Louise? Both get their gorgeous turquoise color from natural elements held in suspension.

Recently, we hosted a select group of beauty editors and enthusiasts at the Fairmont Lake Louise on an informative, two-day trip to share how we’ve harnessed the power of sustainably-harvested natural ingredients to create our award-winning, science backed skincare formulas.

What Are Copper Peptides?

Copper peptides are amino acids that form naturally in the body as protein building blocks. Like squalene, they’re a naturally-occurring compound that we make less of as we get older, contributing to the signs of aging.

Fortunately, topical application can increase collagen and reduce the look of wrinkles. The clinical data illustrating these benefits was so compelling that we created a whole serum around them. Hence our Squalane + Copper Peptide Rapid Plumping Serum was born.

Copper Peptides’ Connection To Lake Louise

As a glacial lake, Lake Louise gets its turquoise color from trace minerals held in suspension within its waters. Similarly, natural, sustainably-sourced copper is what gives our Squalane + Copper Rapid Plumping Serum its bright turquoise color.

We wanted our guests to understand the science behind this amazing, naturally-occurring ingredient. So we took them for a canoe trip Lake Louise to highlight this serum’s connection to the earth and highlight our appreciation and respect for nature.

Our guests immediately saw the connection, and even started referring to our product as “Lake Louise Serum” because its color is so similar.

How Copper Peptides Benefit The Skin

Day 2 of our adventure found our guests at our North Labs experience, where we created a mini lab for guests to interact with. Biossance Global Education Manager, Alexis Udo-Udoma illustrated how copper peptides penetrate the epidermis to plump the skin.

Copper peptides support the production of collagen and elastin, the building blocks of bounce in the skin. This plumping effect also helps reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles.

Guests experienced this effect firsthand as they enjoyed a hydrating facial following their lab session.

How To Incorporate Copper Peptides Into Your Routine

We began our third and final day at Lake Louise with a guided sunrise Polar Plunge into the lake. Our breathing expert and guide explained how she uses our Squalane + Copper Peptide Rapid Plumping Serum and Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil after a cold plunge to help boost circulation while tightening and hydrating her skin.

You don’t need to be on a spa getaway or be into cold plunges to experience copper peptides’  benefits for yourself. You can incorporate them into your daily routine by applying our Squalane + Copper Peptide Rapid Plumping Serum to a clean face, followed by your favorite moisturizer. We recommend pairing it with our Squalane + Omega Repair Cream and Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil for maximum efficacy.

As a lifestyle writer and journalist, I’m excited to bring my passion for storytelling to Biossance as an Engagement Content Writer. Two things you should know about me: I have a deep love of the ocean (especially sharks) and I’m obsessed with clean beauty. My bathroom cabinet is literally overflowing with my many-layered sustainable skincare routine. This combo is what led me to buy my first bottle of Vitamin C Rose Oil. I was so impressed by the way it improved my skin that I wanted to shout this brand from the rooftops. Three years later, and here I am doing just that. I’m excited to be on this journey of clean beauty innovation with Biossance, and to share it with you here on the blog.
