Proud to be Clean at Sephora

by Michelle McComb June 15, 2018

The beauty industry is changing. Consumers are voting with their wallets and telling brands exactly what they want in their products—and what they don’t. At Biossance, we’ve been leading the clean beauty charge since day one. This is why we’re so incredibly proud to be part of Clean at Sephora—a new category of products that have been verified to be free from 12 ingredients that consumers no longer want in their personal care products.

To find these brands and products at Sephora, look for a green Clean at Sephora seal. All products with this seal are free from sulfates SLS and SLES, parabens, formaldehydes, formaldehyde-releasing agents, phthalates, mineral oil, retinyl palmitate, oxybenzone, coal tar, hydroquinone, triclosan, and triclocarban. And of course, you’ll find this seal on every Biossance product.

Learn more about these ingredients with our Clean Beauty Cheat Sheet.

As part of our No Compromise™ approach, Biossance blacklists over 2,000 ingredients from our products and packaging that are potentially harmful to people and the planet. And while 12 may not seem like much in comparison, we see this as a huge step in the right direction. Sephora is committed to updating the Clean at Sephora ingredient list as the clean beauty movement grows. So keep voting with your wallet, clean beauty lovers. Your healthy, safe choices make a difference and together we’ll continue to change the beauty industry one ingredient at a time.

I’m what I like to call a beauty “holy grail seeker”, which means I own 150+ nude/pink shades of lipstick and am still on the hunt for the best one. When it comes to skincare, I believe in real ingredients that actually work, not marketing fluff. In my free time, I perform in musicals and play Pickleball. Previously of ipsy and K&L Wines.
